Manet? I think that is right. The painting hangs in the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. Cool.

It has nothing to do with physical strength... It has to do with sticking with a task when you should give up (or something like that).

Willy, I think your image choices say it all. Although I live an upper middle class lifestyle because of a spouse's income and my work, it isn't a conscious choice for me. And I wrestle with it.

When my life sucked and I had a choice to make--go back to the grind of corporate investment banking or hold fast to what felt more real to me than anything ever had, even though I couldn't articulate it and I struggled to understand it (still do and you know that)--I chose to live into my true self more and let go of that "income" or "status" or "ego" prescription. No matter the cost, it was the only way for me to live.

The hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on your education are nothing when compared to the deep sense of knowing you are where you are supposed to be. Something tells me that your parents know that even if it isn't now, nor ever was, verbalized.

I can say this about the investment they made: For as long as I have known you, going on seven years, you have lived a life that makes that return on investment infinite. You are making an impact that extends far beyond what you even can see or touch. And, ironically, I thought about that this morning.

Keep on keeping on...and I hope you'll be proud of yourself instead of feeling guilty.

How ironic that as the Federal Government prepares for its 2020 summit in which it will examine (among other 'containers') innovation and education including how to ensure the workforce is prepared for a data rich online environment, the State Government chooses to close down a prime example of EXACTLY the type of teaching and skill sets required in the future!
